The Other (L'autre) is a sculptural installation incorporating a serpentine stone sculpture, other multimedia sculptures and photographs. Depicting a sinking figure stepping into a 'paper' boat, this installation explores the theme of migration from a personal (experience as a migrant in South Africa) to a global context. While engaging with the complexity of situating 'home' as a migrant, it also reflects on some of the struggles of being considered 'other' or 'different' or 'alien'.
