to shape and be shaped is a
collective expression of self.

THE ONE PIECE

The One Piece brings together different tribal costumes from Cameroon. This design allows the performer to weave fluidly between styles associated with different indigenous tribes. Consequently, this combination also gives birth to new forms.

Inspired by the union of two individuals shaped by different traditional customs, the piece explores marriage as a site of coming together, where distinct traditions converge, overlap, and form something new.

It is thus designed essentially as a single piece of cloth, akin to an unaltered wrapper, lappa, or pagne, with different styles emerging as the fabric is folded around the body.

THE HOAG

The Hoag is a combination of a hood and a bag, stemming from my love for hoods. It is designed so that the hood is interchangeable, mirroring ideas in my core practice of transformation and impermanence.
